Uncommon Waters

Terms

Uncommon Waters Academy. These apply when you sign up for a cohort. Version 1.

Your seat

Signing up claims a seat in the next cohort while seats last. When the cohort is full, later signups go on the waitlist and may be invited when a seat opens or another cohort is scheduled. The course is free for veterans. Civilian tuition is $3,600. We may adjust the schedule and the content as the course runs.

Veteran affirmation

By checking “I affirm” you state that you served in the United States Armed Forces. We rely on your affirmation and do not ask for documents. If it is not true, we may end your seat.

Your accounts, your responsibility

You open and pay for your own accounts: Cursor, GitHub, Vercel, Supabase, Resend, Sentry, and any AI model provider. You agree to each provider’s terms. Uncommon Waters does not host, pay for, or control your accounts, and you are responsible for what you build and run on them, including keys and spending limits.

What you build is yours

You own the work you create in the course. We may show it in class as an example only with your permission.

Conduct

Do not build anything illegal or meant to harm people, and treat the cohort with respect. We may end a seat for either.

Recordings

Live classes are recorded and made available to the cohort, including through an interactive voice agent. If you join a live class, you may appear in the recording.

Your information

We use your name, email, phone, veteran affirmation, AI fluency, organization, and registration status to run the course and contact you about it. Course staff and service providers that operate registration and email may process this information for us. We keep the registration record while needed to run the cohorts and maintain our records. We do not sell it. You may ask us to correct or delete it.

No guarantees

The course is education. We do not promise a job, a product outcome, or any result.
