The course
101 · Build · Nov 9 – Dec 19
Build a working product with AI.
In six weeks, a non-technical person builds a working web app with AI, with sign-in, a database, and a live integration, then deploys it and puts it in front of a real user. They leave able to prototype ideas, design simple AI workflows, and set up basic agents at work.
How it works
- Two swim buddies. A human partner who reviews the work and signs off on each milestone, and an AI swim buddy that checks progress daily and flags trouble early.
- One project, start to finish. Students build something they care about, put it in front of a real user, then learn to harden it. Nothing is graded that didn't actually happen.
- Built around a job. One 90-minute live session and two 30-minute office hours each week. ~8–15 hours per week total.
- Tools included. Cursor Ultra, GitHub, Vercel, Supabase, Sentry, Resend, and hosting for the six weeks, plus one certification exam.
- An outside credential. The exam is a recognized one (Google Cloud Generative AI Leader, AWS Certified AI Practitioner, or GitHub Foundations), so the credential comes from the frontier organizations, not from us.
- After the course. Graduates join the Uncommon Waters community.

Progressive training
201 AI Governance comes next. It runs in early Q1 for graduates who want to keep going: checking AI-built work, keeping a record of what was done, and setting the rules for how AI is used where they work.
