Questions

When do I pay?

Only after you’ve been accepted. If you’ve been waitlisted, once you confirm your seat you will be prompted for payment.

What if the cohort doesn’t fill?

The cohort runs with a minimum of 10. If it does not start, every accepted student rolls to the next cohort and any payment is refunded in full.

What is the refund policy?

A full refund before the start, three-quarters through week 1, half in week 2, a quarter in week 3, and none from week 4.

How does veteran pricing work?

The course is free for veterans. Like every student, you pay only for your own tools. Check “I affirm” when you sign up; we take your word and ask for no documents.

What tools do I pay for?

Tools are not included in tuition. You open your own accounts and own everything you build. Cursor is required: Premium $30, Super $100, or Ultra $200 a month. GitHub, Vercel, Supabase, Resend, and Sentry are free for the course. AI model usage runs on your own API key, under a spending cap you set. If you take your product commercial, hosting is about $45 a month (Vercel Pro $20, Supabase Pro $25).

Can my employer or a nonprofit pay for my seat?

Yes. Add the organization when you sign up, and payment instructions can go to them.

Can an organization sponsor several seats or a whole cohort?

Yes. Email info@uncommonwaters.ai.

How much time does it take?

One 90-minute live class each week, Mondays at 7:00 PM ET, recorded with an interactive voice agent if you can’t attend live. Two 30-minute office hours, Wednesdays at 10:00 AM ET and Fridays at 3:00 PM ET. About 8 to 15 hours a week in total.

What do I need?

A laptop or computer you can install software on, access to email, documents, and a browser, and a Cursor subscription from $30 a month. No coding background required.

What comes after 101?

201 AI Governance and 301 Forward Deployed Engineering, both in Q1 2027. 201 is checking AI-built work and setting the rules for AI where you work. 301 is building and shipping inside other people’s environments.
